Program:  The Price of Purchasing:  Human Trafficking & Supply Chain Transparency – Brittany Partridge will educate us on the problem of human trafficking internationally and domestically.

Program:  Autism – Suzanne Quinn-McDonald will share the knowledge she has gained in her 35 years of teaching, assessing, and evaluating autistic 3-4 year old children in her career in Early Childhood/Special Education.

November 7, 2013

Program:  Experience Educational Adventures – Traveling with Road Scholars – Lee Anderson will tell us about Road Scholars, an educational adventures firm created by Elderhostel, Inc. – the not-for-profit world leader in lifelong learning since 1975.  We will hear about their wide array of educational travel programs which foster camaraderie and a sense of community.

Program:  Holiday High Tea – A high tea will be served by Cottage Gourmets at the Westman home on Lake Sylvia.  Seating is limited and carpooling is a must.  Directions will be given before the event.

Program:  Healthy Eating – Julie Starke, Registered Licensed Dietitian, will introduce us to the Mediterranean Diet, which is one of the healthiest in the world.

Program:  Floral Design Made Easy – AIC member, Cathy Gulyas, will educate us on how to prep flowers and greenery, and use materials found in our own backyard for floral arrangements for all occasions.

Program:  Wellness Center Tour and “Chronic Pain:  Listening to your body and how to respondFollowing a tour of the Wellness Center, Stacy Besonen will discuss self-management tools for chronic pain and offer strategies for living life to the fullesta

April 3, 2014

Program:  The importance of Honey Bees and What We Can Do to Help Them – Gary Cobus, a Master Gardener, will teach us the importance of honeybee pollinators, and the problems they face today, including Colony Collapse Disorder.  Learn what we can do to help by creating bee-friendly gardens, reducing use of pesticides, and maintaining habitat.

May 1, 2014        

Program:  Addiction, Recovery, and Hazelden – William Cope Moyers, author and VP of Public Affairs and Community Relations at Hazelden,  will share his commitment to eliminating barriers to recovery from addiction from alcohol and other drug addictions.

June 5, 2014 
Program:  Tour of the Weisman Art Museum – A guided tour of the Weisman Art Museum at the U of M, featuring 20th century artists, ceramics, and contemporary art.  Following the tour, lunch on your own in Dinkytown.  Donation:  ACT (Annandale Area Community Team)

Program – Tour of Minnesota Pioneer Park – Founded in 1972, this open-air historical museum has over 20 buildings furnished with artifacts depicting pioneer life in the late 1800’s to early 1900’s.

August 7, 2014   

Program:  Wet & Wild plus mini-fundraiser lunch – AIC member kayak races at Annandale City Park, followed by a picnic lunch provided by AIC Executive Board & Program Committee at the Park Pavilion.
