THE ANNANDALE IMPROVEMENT CLUB

In Two Years It Has Bought a Piano for the Town Hall 
and Established a Library of Five Hundred Volumes 

   In proportion to the population Annandale has what seems to be the largest and one of the most active clubs in the state--the Improvement club.  It was organized in 1898 with seventeen members and now has a membership of sixty.  It has interested itself in whatever undertakings seemed most desired by the town and has done excellent work. One of its first successful projects was the purchase of a piano for the town hall.  This having been accomplished, the club turned its attention to the question of a library.  This work was undertaken last year and the library now numbers 500 books.  It is entirely in charge of the club and is housed in a room in the town hall.  It is open on Saturday afternoons from 2 to 5, and the club members act as librarians by turns.

    The officers of the club are:   President, Mrs. Henry K. Kelly; vice president, Mrs. Marion P. Satterlee; secretary, Miss Ella Kelly; treasure, Miss Ada Ponsford; librarian, Mrs. S. H. McGuire.  The regular meetings of the club are held once month and are pleasant gatherings.  A recent meeting took the form of a colonial tea.
