2009 Annual Report


ANNANDALE IMPROVEMENT CLUB ANNUAL ACTIVITIES REPORT
APRIL 2008 MARCH 2009
 

Elected Officers:  Cindy Ahrens and Sally Smith, co-president; Gloria Warner, vice president; Beryl Geisinger, treasurer; Sandy Otto, secretary.

Activities Overview:  The club was represented at the Annandale Business Expo. We continue our associations with the Annandale Chamber of Commerce and the Annandale Area Friends of the Library. The AIC proudly keeps our city looking beautiful with the summer planting of the rings and hanging baskets. We continue the beautification with the fall corn stalks and winter greens. Colorful geraniums were sold as a spring fundraiser. There was a fun and rainy pot luck picnic in Sandy Ottos garage in July. We had a deliciously lovely high tea at the Westman/Hankerson home on Lake Sylvia in December.

Donations were made to:  Food shelf, Anna Maries Alliance, Camp Eastview, calling cards for the troops, Share Your Christmas, personal hygiene items and white socks for the schools, yarn, and teddy bears for Camp Amanda.

Programs and Speakers:  Judy Gay reported on Anna Maries Alliance, a trip to Bachmans and the Russian Art Museum, Gail Fuad spoke on Kurdistan, Barb Westman and Sue Hankerson told us about their Cottage Gourmet business and served a lunch at Fair Haven Farms, realizing dreams with Susan Iida-Pederson, books and more with GRRLs Mic Golden, Becky from Dan and Beckys Market in Cokato, and womens heart disease from the Allina Hospital in Buffalo.

Membership:  New members are, Marilyn Bruggeman, Nancy Hector and Tara Partridge. New Honorary members include, Jean Haskin, Joan Jorgenson, Connie Kuehn, Peg Osterby, Jeanne Roth, Alice Thompson and Jane Wizik, posthumously added Marian McDonald and Ruth Holmuth. The sad loss of members, Nancy Hable and Eva Joan Sankin.
