2008 Annual Report


Annandale Improvement Club Annual Activities Report  

April 2007 March 2008

   

Elected Officers include Cindy Ahrens, president; Erla Kyllonen, vice president; Sandy Otto, secretary; Beryl Geisinger, treasurer.

Activities overview

The club was represented at the Annandale Business Expo. It continues its associations with the Annandale Chamber of Commerce and the Annandale Area Friends of the Library. The beautification committee keeps Annandale looking its best with the help of the club, the city of Annandale and funds from the Jean Pelto memorials. More gardens are planned at Snooty Fox and under the clock tower. A sound system was donated by club member Vicki Morgan. We relaxed at Sandy Ottos for summer pot luck get together. We had a beautiful day for our pontoon boat tour of Lake Sylvia homes. Geranium sales are planned for a spring fundraiser.

Donations were made to:

Teddy bears to Camp Amanda; craft supplies to Camp Eastview; undergarments, pjs and socks for the St Cloud Womens Shelter; personal hygiene items for the Annandale Middle School; items for Camp Courage; childrens toy or a book for Annandales Share Your Christmas; yarn for Wright Countys Knitting For Others; calling cards for our troops; box tops for education and food items for the Annandale Food Shelf.

Programs and Speakers

Elizabeth Cabalka and Marlene Dingmann presented Horseback for Hope for Camp Amanda . Elizabeth Cabalka also shared her experiences, travels and the CD recording of her book. Toured Fair haven Farms, Had a funny and informative presentation on food by Julie Peterson. Jill Bishop told us all about Annandale Online. Lunch and meeting at Camp Courage . December holiday tea and dulcimer music, played by Mary Haag. Toured Lakedales telephone museum. Mic Golden from GRRL presented books on food and recipes. A humorous, informational and musical presentation, on garlic and sustainable gardening, by Jerry Ford and his wife Marienne Kreitlow.

Membership

Donna Kaz became an honorary member. Carmen Merrill and Lorenchia Scott cancelled their memberships. We now have or 100 members.
