Improvement Club 
1983 Annual Report


                 Officers elected for the 1982-1983 term were:

  •         President---Doris Spindler

  •         Vice President---Barb Helget

  •         Secretary---Jean Mundell

  •         Treasurer---Gina Higgins

      During the year we enjoyed informative programs such as:

  •         A Look at U.S. Foreign Policy by Ann Lunsten

  •         Chinese Cooking by Sin Ling Chang

  •         Home Economist from Wright County by Jean Johnson

  •         Country Creations by Patti Peterson

  •         Womens Defense Against Assault by Joan Pilot from the Rape Crisis Center

  •         FYI-Daytons Consulting Service by Alyce Tickner and Linda Pilling

  •         Trip to St. Johns

      In the social and community action area we had:

  •         A salad luncheon and style show which profited our club with $694.93

  •         A dinner at Ellis with husbands.  The program was Confederate Air Force by Randy Sohn and Jim McDonnell.

  •         A display of quilts by Shirley Good

     Our members helped with the Red Cross Bloodmobile effort and also with the Pre-School testing program.

  •      The wreath committee reports a profit of $896.50.

  •      The tote bags have brought in a profit of $140.00.

  •      179 cookbooks were sold at $5.00 each for $895.00.

  •      $1200.00 withdrawn for library improvements.

  •      $33.01 interest earned.

  •      Savings account balance on 4-1-83 was $818.70.

      Improvements made to the library include new shelving, a 2 drawer file, an outdoor book deposit, a new heating system and repaired and painted walls.  Also a new door and new eaves.
