May, 1975Wild flower program at Connie K. home

  • 53 members present
  • We purchased used refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher for kitchen
  • We had reports from Julia on remodeling, from Mary Weymann on clinic project, from Jill Bishop on tour of homes plans
  • Years program was read by Monique and accepted

June, 1975Bus tour to Collegeville ( ST. Johns and St. Bens) and St. Cloud with lunch after at the Country Club

  • About 40 members present
  • Short business meeting (Mayor said our library will have aluminum storm windows installed)
  • Flower schedules handed out
  • Some returned to library to see about buying an antique fireplace

September 4, 1975the Depot at Pioneer Park

  • Library committee appointed to work with Florence Lohn
  • Julia B., Joyce McBride, Maureen Arenson, and Connie Kuehn to see about more space for books, etc.
  • Maureen, Diane Shoberg, and Betty Haugen on drama committee (childrens theater)
  • Cherry Friendshuh handed out tour of homes tickets- 2 tickets to each member
  • Betty Haugen reported on Christmas Party

October, 1975

  • Speaker Mayor Fashant talked and answered questions on plans for Annandale
  • Our house tour was a success but we need better communication about deadlines to return unsold tickets and advertise to sell all returned tickets.
  • Big discussion on a members responsibility for projects and committee work, etc.
  • Motion carried that we approve the idea of expanding library space
  • Sweet Adeline Quartet sang

November, 1975

  • Eleanora  Auvinen talked on their will always be a Yule
  • Our library sign was stolen
  • Wreath committee has ordered 400 wreaths to sell for $3.50 each.  Each member must sell 3 wreaths and prepay for them.
  • Betty said our trip to Orchestra Hall in December is sold out.

January, 1976

  • Fran Ramsden gave wreath committee reportsold 425-made $579 profit
  • Florence Lohn said the council is cooperative about library remodeling, but we need figures on costs.
  • We have insulation bidsMotion was carried that we go ahead and have it done.
  • We decided to not rent out our library to outside groups
  • We will take on clinic, pre-school program again
  • Miss Baker, from Great River Library, gave reviews on new books and said they would help us with book racks, sign, return slot, and maybe furniture.

February, 1976

  • Connie Kuehn gave report on remodeling and after discussion, we voted to give bid to Russlie Froeming to start immediately.
  • Finance committee was appointed to publicize our remodeling and need for money and come up with money making projects.
  • Ellie Dahl and Monique Provo welcome suggestions from all of us
  • Program on crafts by Red Owl girls

March, 1976at VFW hall as library is in a remodeling mess

  • Plant sale with Martin Lampi presiding
  • Guest speaker was Glen Ray of the U of M Horticulture Society
  • Business meeting was postponed because of late hour and stormy weather

In a nutshell, we went from redecorating library rooms, to remodeling and enlarging it for more library books and reading room. 

  • Our flower and wreath projectssuccess as usual.
  •  Home tour an extra
  • 7 more members64 members now ( 1 death, 1 resignation)
  • 2 trips and interesting programs
  • We are getting bigger and better and taking on bigger projects!
