Meeting Minutes - April 6, 2010
President Carol Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. with 11
members present. Motion MSP to
approve the secretary’s minutes.
Because of a change in the original officers elected at the November meeting, a
motion was MSP (Ron, Sally) to accept the new slate of officers.
Julie Sedey and Carol Anderson co-presidents, Sally Smith secretary, Dean
Cheney treasurer. Treasurer’s
report: Balance to date is $6501.09.
Motion MSP (Jean, Marion) to accept report subject to audit.
Reports
Library Board:
Next meeting is scheduled for May 13, 2010
Publicity Committee:
Dean will create a ¼ sheet handout for
the Expo. Bonnie and Ron will work
on a ¼ page ad for the 5/26 Advocate.
Dean will work on an author dinner ad for the 5/5 Advocate.
Ticket deadline for author dinner is 5/13.
Librarian Report:
Carla reported on the many activities planned for spring and summer at
the library. There are many legacy
events as well as the usual GRRL programming.
Carla also explained the computer plans for 2010 (2 replacement Public
Access Computers and 3 replacement Internet computers).
Internet reservations now require a library card.
Unfinished Business

Sign:
After returning the first replacement sign, a new neon sign hangs in the
window.
Application for MN Sales Tax Exemption Status (sent 10/26/09):
Bonnie reports that the process takes 8 to 9 months to complete.
Author
Dinner:
Ron will borrow the sound system.
Sally will serve as hostess.
Jean and Julie will take tickets and assist in book sales.
Business Expo:
A sign-up for volunteers was passed around.
We will not have door prizes.

990-N:
This IRS report was done online.

Business
Summer
Reading Report:
Sally will again do a story time at 2 locations – Elm Grove Trailer Court
and Knollwood Square Apts. In
addition she will do a story time at the library on Fridays in July using the
same materials. Motion MSP (Ron
Dean) to allocate $150 for this project.
Book
Sale:
The sale is set for July 3rd.
Volunteers will be needed for June Tuesdays to sort donations.
Prices will be $1 for hardcover books, 50 cents for paperback books, and
$1 for media.
Meeting adjourned at 9:05 p.m.
