Story Time Project--Sally
Smith
-Sally would like to start a story
time in August for children (5-10 years old) in both Elm Grove Park and Eastview.
She estimates about 45 children in the program. She would read books for about
20 minutes, have a related craft for another 20-30 minutes and end with a
healthy snack and beverage for each student.
As they leave, she would like each of them to receive a new paperback
book to take home and keep. Older
kids would be welcome as helpers. She
would meet with the kids once a week (one day at Elm Grove Park and one day at
Eastview) each week in August. She
presented a breakdown of expenses--and plans to attend a warehouse book sale in
May for the paperbacks. Her proposal
asked for $450 to get this project underway--MSP Muriel/Mary to allocate $600.
