REPORTS
Childrens
Programming--Dawn
-Dawn presented the
scheduling options and themes for the summer programs.
The option chosen for the summer will be every 3rd Tuesday
and every 3rd Saturday (with the help of Jill Healy).
The theme will be Summer Safari.
Theme related books will be pulled and set out during this time, the
childrens area will be made to look more safari-ish(!), and animal crackers
could be served as a special treat at the end of story time.
We have already approved money for an easel and that will be ordered.
A few new puppets are needed. Up
to $150 authorized to purchase puppets and to pay for shipping for
easel/puppets. (MSP Cindy/Jean)
Library Board--Ron/Cindy
-Cindy reported that
improvements have been made in the library bathroom--shelving, childs seat.
-Sandy commented on her
concern about the landscaping rocks. They
are always scattered on the steps and sidewalk (Cherry Street side)
causing a hazard for walkers. They
are not contained by edging or timbers. Just
a concern.
-GRRL now has criteria for
starting up new libraries--Maple Lake is interested in such a project.
-There is a possibility of
new legislation that would be helpful to regional libraries--more money for
operations. Cindy and Julie had
talked to our representatives about that--and encourage all of us to do the
same.
-Meeting schedule for the
Library Board is online --Annandale site.
