Review
of the Agenda: MSP (Denise,
Ron) to approve agenda.
Secretarys
Report: MSP (Julie O.,
Karen) to approve the minutes.
Financial
Report: No report given.
Librarians
Report:
GRRL
Report: Joan
reported that GRRL would be having a campaign that will raise money for extra
things for the new library. The
referendum only pays for the building. Joan
hopes to finally have an office with a window.
Completed policy on new/existing libraries will go before the GRRL Board
later in November.
Programming
Report:
Dawn e-mailed that the story times are going very well.
Art
Committee: Dawn
and Ron - Ron
reported that the middle school art display in the library would go up next.
FOL
Report: Bonnie
reported on the author event, which featured Stan Tekiela.
He spoke on the good points of birds that are not highly thought of, such
as pigeons and crows. The group
would like to have him come in the summer to speak on loons.
The FOL meeting will be Nov. 13 at 6:30.
Treats will be served.

Business:
Nominations:
Bonnie
Gutzwiller and Idell Knudsvig are nominees to the Board.
There was no response from newspaper ad.
Officer nominations for 2008 are Cindy Ahrens, President, Julie Olson,
Vice President and Julie Sedey, Secretary. It
was proposed that we have candidates in September and that meetings would be in
January, late April, September, and November for 2008.
New
Business:
Conference
Report:
Ron recommended that everyone go to a MLA Conference.
The main speakers were great and the genealogy session he attended was
excellent. He went to Cindy and
Chris Olsons presentation on advocacy, which is not just talking to the
legislative members about library issues, but also coming and using the library
and talking about it to people. The
National Library Conference is March 25-29, 2008 in
The next
meeting will be Jan. 3, 2008 at 4:00 p.m.
