Financial Report - Mark reported that the balance is $2,401.10.  Bills for the new open sign and FOL 501C3 were paid.

Librarians Report: Sandy reported that the receipt printer is in and that everything now prints to one printer.  The summer program participants each received a bag of goodies that included a harmonica with instructions and a free book.  There was a drawing for a book bag.  Approximately 89 started the program. July 10-15 had 53 people use the Internet.  The wireless is working very well.  There is room for 2 laptop tables.  The coffee shop also has wireless.  So far this summer 8 people have volunteered 58 1/2 hours.  Deans Saturday Mr. Violin show was well attended.  The 4 Saturday programs had a total of 111 children attend.  Sandy was thanked for hosting the FOL and AIC picnic this year.

Technology Report:  Jill reported that we could get a net-nanny filter for the stand alone computer from Steve Bergesch.  MSP (Jill, Cindy) to pay up to $50 for this filter.

GRRL Report:  Joan reported that the receipt printer is in and also the one-network printer for the library and patrons.  Salaries have been increased and there will be new branch assistants for 2007not sure how they will be distributed.  There will be no new hours for any branch library.  The Elk River Library had requested and offered to pay for a pilot program for self-check-out but the GRRL Board denied this.

FOL Report: Cindy reported the author event took in $1600.58.  Expenses were $191.29 and net income was $1409.38.  As of the June 6 meeting, the FOL balance is $3652.96.  The Book Sale held a special FOL night on June 30 and was open to the public on July 1. It worked well to have the sale with the July 4th activities.

19 volunteers sorted and/or worked at the sale, which brought in $1311.

Ben Franklin gave $75 to FOL.  A man who is starting a used bookstore in Paynesville picked up the books that were left.  $150 was approved for Sandys anniversary celebration in October.  The MLA conference is being held in St. Cloud.  The Friends/Trustees day is Sept. 28.  The cost for the day is $50 which includes lunch.  Cindy hopes that at the September FOL meeting some money may be approved for those who would like to attend.

Old Business

Art Committee - Jill, Dawn, Ed, and Ron

An art painting has been sold for $25.  The others are in storage.  They discussed hanging some in the library to be for sale.  Their goal is to sell them by next year.  They are working on a waiver form for the original Triathlon posters.  A new easel for Dawns program is needed.

Publicity Committee - Cindy, Karen, Ron, Bonnie, and Ed

The ad in the Advocate wasnt able to be in color.  It was suggested that the content of the ads be sent to Jill for insert in Annandale online.

Community Survey Committee Denise, Cindy and Julie

Because of the high cost of distributing the survey on a community-wide basis, it was decided to just have them available at the library.  Deadline for returning surveys to a box at the library is Aug. 19.
