GRRL Report - Joan reported that she brought up Sandys request for a receipt printer when she met with the new GRRL director, Kristi Smith. Starting in April GRRL will be sending more staffing help, so Sandy will be double staffed on Wednesdays and get every other Saturday off. Joan will bring examples of other communities surveys for survey that will happen in Annandale in 2006.

Old Business

Art Committee-Jill, Dawn, Ed, and Ron met on January 24th to add more pictures to the library walls, 3 more Rataczak works on the east wall and 3 Lotus Williams paintings on the north wall. They also put the paintings in the storage closet on a raised pallet. Ron reported that the display of Elwyn Nordbergs work that will hang in the library soon will include the pictures that were recently seen in In Hot Water plus a few more. Their next meeting is April 4th.

Publicity Committee An article in the January 25th Advocate covered the librarys new Wi-Fi, and Ron commented that the Advocate has always been very support of the library. Karen reported that the librarys quarter page in the Advocate that will appear quarterly will be starting April 4th. It is a joint venture between the Friends of the Library and Library Board, and will include contributions from Sandy, the Library Board, Friends, and GRRL.

Programming-Dawn. The "Date with Dad" program on Wednesday, February 15th was well attended with around 20 dads and 30 kids. Another Wednesday evening program, "Reading with your Beginning Reader" will be held on March 1st.

Library signage - Jill reported that an application was sent to MnDOT to request permission to put signs with the library symbol on Hwy 55 for both eastbound and westbound traffic. According to the written guidelines it is unlikely that a sign pointing to the library will be permitted on Oak Street because the library is in view from Oak.

New Business

Elizabeth sent an example of long-term planning that she got from a library in Arizona. Karen suggested that we might include potential goals for the library in the Community Survey.

Next meeting will be March 16th at 400. MSP (Denise/Jill) to adjourn.

Respectfully Submitted,
Jill Bishop, Acting Secretary
