Present: Denise Safranek,
Karen Spiegeler, Ron Remington, Jill Bishop, Sally Smith, Betty Anderson
(visitor), Joan Allen (GRRL), Sandy Otto (Librarian), Mark Casey (City), Dawn
Schaefer Stumpf (program advisor).
*Review
of the Agenda: Motion MSP
(Jill, Sally) to approve agenda.
*Secretarys
Report: Motion MSP (Denise,
Karen) to approve minutes.
*Library
Financials: Mark presented
report with a balance of $2673.10 of which $1100 has previously been approved
for the Friends to become a 501c3. Motion
MSP (Sally, Denise) to approve report.
*Librarians
Report: The computer station
that will be paid for by the Improvement Club has not been ordered as yet
because a check is needed first. That
situation is being taken care of with the Club treasurer.
*GRRL
Report: Joan reported that
St. Cloud
has reader printer for reel to reel and microfilm for genealogy work.
GRRL patrons also have access to Heritage Quest which contains
census records up to 1930 available at home or through GRRL sites.
The possibility of a genealogy class (library or GRRL) was discussed
and all felt it would be a good idea and a way to educate the public on the
availability of genealogy materials at the library.
Sandy and Joan will check on having bookmarks made that would list the
genealogy resources.
Julie
attended a library advocacy meeting on January 24th
Ron
attended a regional meeting where state finances were discussed and he felt
the news was good.
Sandy,
Julie, and Erla Kyllonen will attend Library Legislative Day on February 23 or
24th.

Work3 Lotus Williams paintings were sold for $50 each.

decide about adopting it next month.
2)A vote by show of hands approved the Bylaws with just a couple
typos.

should get us a clean copy for signing next month.
3)Financial status of Board was reviewed.

our information. Jill does a
great job of keeping the site up to date.
1)The hanging system has been purchased and Joe will take care of
installation when it arrives. 2)Jill
would like a Friends member to join Dawn and herself on the art committee.
