Meeting Minutes
May 20, 2004

Members Present: Kathy Wenngatz, Elizabeth Cabalka, Jill Bishop, Betty Anderson, Stephanie Rindelaub, City Administrator Mark Casey, GRRL Representative Joan Allen; 
Absent: Ron Remington and Sally Smith

Review of the Agenda: MSP (Stephanie, Betty) to approve agenda

Secretarys Report: MSP (Jill, Stephanie) to approve minutes of the March meeting.

Library Financials: Presented by Markbalance of $3888.01. MSP (Betty, Jill) to approve financial report.

Librarians Report: The float tray is in; the third grade has been visiting the library; Sandys primary wants are a paperback spinner and the chair for the childrens area.

City Report: No report on the light switches and the heater. The city will be adding signage to the outside of the library on the west side, 14" letters saying "LIBRARY" to match existing lettering above the entry to City Hall. It will be paid for out of the citys capital fund, not the librarys funds.

GRRL Report: Presentation by Joan: "Routing Materials"

Friends of the Library Report: The Garage Sale was very successful, clearing $440. The next event will be the end of summer party for the participants in the summer reading program. An Author Event is still being discussed. MSP (Elizabeth,Betty) to spend up to $500 for a spinner or a glider, whichever is Sandys preference.

Old Business:

• Art WorkNancy Spencer is donating 4 paintings by Lotus Williams to be used or sold.
• Goals and Focus of the Library BoardMSP (Betty, Stephanie) to accept the by-laws.
• TechnologyNo report
• Annandale Online and Wish ListJill suggested adding Cindy Ahrens as the Friends of the Library Representative on the librarys webpage in the existing "Library Board Advisors" list.
• Grant ApplicationsNo Report
• Book of DonorsNo Report
• Organization MembershipsNo Report

New Business:

• Nominating Committee MSP (Stephanie, Betty) to establish a nominating committee to replace Library Board members. The committee members will be Jill, Sally, and Elizabeth.
• Summer Schedule We will skip meetings in June and July, meeting next at 10:00 on Thursday, August 19^th.
• Friends Party MSP (Jill, Elizabeth) to spend up to $150 for the end of year party put on by the Friends of the Library.
• Resignation Stephanie will be resigning to work in a library in Cairo, Egypt. MSP (Elizabeth, Jill) to accept Stephanies resignation.

Next meeting will be Thursday, August 19, 2004, at 10:00 a.m.
