ANNANDALE IMPROVEMENT CLUB ANNUAL ACTIVITIES REPORT

Activities Overview: 

-       Our summer plantings included our rings and gardens in town, at the park and the new city cemetery; we helped with the re-mulching of the Café Jules Garden; fall cornstalks on Main Street were purchased and hung; the rings were filled with greens by the end of October

-       We had a booth at the Annandale Business Expo

-       We took a trip to the Weisman Art Museum

-       Had a crazy fun fund raising event, Wet and Wild followed by a Picnic in the Park

-       We acquired a 501©3 status

Programs and Speakers

-       April – Gary Cobus, Master Gardener, on Honey Bees

-       May – William Cope Meyers on Addiction, Recovery and Hazelton

-       June—Enjoyed a field trip to the Weisman Art Museum, lunch on our own in Dinkytown

-       July— We toured Pioneer  Park and learned about its history from Carol Weir and Marilyn Gordon

-       August— Judi Gay organized a Kayak Race and a Salad Luncheon hosted by the AIC Officers was enjoyed at the Park Pavilion - we also learned about Anna Marie’s Alliance from Charles Hempeck

-       September— A presentation by Blaine Barkley – retired from IRS

-       October—We learned from Betsy Horsch about behaviors-of and how-tos for caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s

-       November—Deborah Day Laxson encouraged us to get our health care directives in place

-       December--We celebrated the holiday at the Westman home on Lake Sylvia---a wonderful beginning to the holiday season

-       January—Denise Froelich and Brooks Rankin shared points to consider when planning your estate.

-       February—Judy Fadden spoke to us about Person Security and Fraud Protection

-       March— Tour of the Annandale Wellness Center and Stacy Besonen/Buffalo Hospital on dealing with chronic pain
