ANNANDALE IMPROVEMENT CLUB ANNUAL ACTIVITIES REPORT

JUNE 2011-MAY 2012

 

Elected Officers:  Co-Presidents--Gloria Warner and Sally Smith; Co-Vice-Presidents--Toni Boie and Gail Tjosvold; Secretary--Sharon Peterson; Treasurer---Judy Seaberg.

 

Activities Overview:  Beautification included our summer plantings--rings and gardens.  Fall brought cornstalks and then winter décor.  We took 2 field trips---Munsinger Gardens in St. Cloud and Little Falls museums.  We had a booth at the Annandale  Business Expo.  We shared expenses for new shelving for the library with Friends of the Library.  Our membership directories were updated, re-done, and distributed!  We commissioned and dedicated a beautiful bench that was placed in the garden in front of Snooty Fox.

 

Donations:  Community Health Foundation of Wright County, American Red Cross, New Beginnings, Share Your Christmas, Anna Marie’s Shelter, Annandale All Day Kindergarten Scholarship Fund, Annandale Food Shelf, Sunset Ridges, Pioneer Park, Camp Eastview, Annandale Area Community Team (ACT), Children’s Grief Connection.

 

Programs and Speakers:  June--Terry Hitchcock gave an inspirational talk about his book, The Run; July--Picnic at the Park Pavilion; August--Field trip to Munsinger Gardens--gorgeous!; September--Laura Jones explained the hospice philosophy of care and informed us about the first hospice house in Wright County being built in Buffalo; October--Downtown Annandale businesses treated us to a style show; November—Keri Raiber told us about New Beginnings--a residential transitional program for single, pregnant women and their babies; December--A delightful wedding fashion show and High Tea at the Wright County Historical Society in Buffalo: January--Chandra Knoof introduced us to gluten-free food and toxin-free cleaning products; February--Marge Lundeen inspired us with her insights and outlook on life---What I Want to be When I Grow Up; March--We were shown how to make dish, fairy and miniature gardens by a Master Gardener; April-we went to Little Falls to tour the Lindbergh home and museum and the Fishing Museum; May---Our annual meeting.

 

Membership:  New Members:  Donna Dunn, Mary Foster, Carol Gertgen, Mickey Keener, Rita Larson, Sara Patch.   Sadly, we lost Dorothy Baker and Jean Haskin.
