The house in the painting is located in Southside Township just northwest of Pleasant Lake.

The Artist says:

I had driven past that house a couple of times and liked the sun and shadows on the snow. I forgot about it until it was too late to photograph it, so I had to wait another year for a heavy snow and a sunny day following the storm and remember to take the camera too. The house looked so nice and cozy, tucked behind the trees.
