Pioneer Park's red caboose was photographed by Jerry L. Carter.

This caboose was built in 1886, the same year rail service began in Annandale. The Soo Line donated this home on wheels which has been left in its original condition, with a flat-topped coal stove, an ice box, water cooler, tin sink and tiny storage closet.  Then the train whistle blew, the children ran to stand by the tracks and wave to the guys high up in the window of the caboose.  Trains no longer carry a caboose since train personnel do not need to travel with the train anymore.
