Elizabeth says she appreciates scenery in a new way since taking up watercolor painting recently, and she finds herself photographing images she might never have noticed before. The Breeze Gate, installed in the park in 2011, is one of the first art pieces sponsored by the Annandale Community Team (A.C.T.) Arts Committee. The money for this piece was donated by family and friends of late Jack Breese who was one of the founding members of the Arts Committee. Standing 19-feet tall, the sculpture is named for the prevailing northwest wind that blows across the lake and through the park. The piece consists of two steel posts topped by a sheet of stainless steel with a gate-like opening. Boulders on the ground at the base of the sculpture represent the area's seven largest lakes.
