Library Rules 
These 7 rules were found pasted in inside
cover of the book Robert's Rules of Order, published 
in 1899.  They were titled "Annandale Public Library: Abbreviated
Regulations."   
 
  
    
      
        - Members may draw only one book at a time.
 
        - Books may be kept two weeks.
 
        - For each book kept over time a fine of two cents a
          day will be imposed.
 
        - Pen or pencil marks, or leaf corners turned down
          will be subject to a fine. 
 
        - Persons taking books will be held responsible for
          their loss or injury.
 
        - No book is to be loaned to persons outside of the
          household.
 
        - Quiet and orderly deportment in the library room
          is enjoined.
