1996 Annual Report

Improvement Club meetings are held at the Centennial Villa with a noon
luncheon the first Thursday of each month, Sept. thru June, with the exception
of the Annual April Meeting held at the library.
We had a variety of interesting topics, trips, and tours this year.
This included everything from Stress Management to Angels, a
Fall Boutique and Silent Auction, Mrs. Weber from Folleys Nursery on plants,
Friends of the Library from St. Cloud, Marge Lundeen on great reading
suggestions, Buffalo and Becker Library tour, Lee Ann Chins and shopping, and
Babes in Arms at the Guthrie.
Fundraising projects this year included the Book and Bake Sale in August,
the Silent Auction in October, wreath sales in November and the ongoing cookbook
and book bag sales.
Our main project this year was the Pavilion.
With up to $5000.00 from the Club motioned toward this, it was decided a
public speaking system would be installed with some minimal decorating done in
the lower level. The Lions Club
contributed $1000.00 in conjunction with our Club towards the project also.
Our treasury balance 4/1/95-3/31/96 = $6763.70
We have a Club Membership of 59 including 2 honorary members, Neva
Peterson and Virginia Higgins. We
have 7 new members and 1 resignation.
