Improvement Club May 4th, 1978Card party and luncheon New officers took over their new roles the coming year. Committee members were Maureen Arenson, Pauline Morganroth, Jean Haskin, Joyce McBride, Helen Hanson, Florence Hasslen and Minnie Chenney. Luncheon was very well attended and the public expressed a desire for more. We voted to order 300 more cookbooks. A big thank you was extended to Ellie Dahl for all her great work for the club. We voted to discontinue our flower sales as very hard to get. June 1stPicnic at the Arboretum The program for the following year was announced. Reported that 180 people attended the salad luncheon in May and we voted to have another one May 3, 1979. We were reminded of no flower sales-so our main projects will be our Christmas wreaths and our salad luncheon. Motion was made to donate a $25 memorial in Pat Kittocks name to her chosen charity, Camp Friendship Auxiliary. Cookbooks are due in July and will sell for $4.50. A delightful lunch at the arboretum was enjoyed by all complete with a tour of the grounds. Lunch was held at October 5, 1978Lets Hear Some Music
October found us off to Orchestra Hall to enjoy some lovely music at one
of their morning Coffee Concerts and we lunched at the Little
Prince. Committee members were Mary Wehmann, Sharon Dvorak, and Barb Helget.

An enjoyable evening at Ellis Steak House complete with dinner and
dancing was enjoyed by many (68) (except the many flu victimswhich included
me!!) Committee members were Jeanne Roth, Julia Barkley, January 11, 1979Lets Read a Good Book Mike Synder gave a book review by Great River Regional Library. Harry Wileage spoke to us on the seminar for battered women through community education. He also spoke on the Needs Assessment survey that will be conducted. Open House cookie party was well attended and recommended we do it again for next year, only not just to include business peoplebut the general public. We sold all our wreaths and suggested next year we order 600 wreaths. Cookbooks are all gone. Committee serving were Marion McDonald, Doris Kalash, Sandy Otto, Edith Picken, Lee Stringer, Julie Wolfsteller. This was our first meeting at the library! February 1, 1979Lets Volunteer
