1964 Annual Report
April 2, 1963-Business meeting
A decision was made to revise the Constitution and By-laws.
The nominating committee reported their slate as follows:

Joining the Federation of Womens Club was not accepted. Forming a Newcomers committee discussed. Christmas Wreaths will be sold again this year. Silent Auction was discussed after an explanation.
May 7trip
Seventeen members and eight guests made a trip to the
Business meeting on the bus: The program for the coming year was accepted. Auditing Committee reported all books in order. Letter openers with the club name will be purchased to give to new residents by the Welcoming Committee.
June 4- Picnic at
Memorial garden is planted with dahlias, petunias, and geraniums. Village council commends Improvement Club for work done in the community. Letter openers for sale at 25cents. The sixth picture painted by Lotus Williams will be purchased for the library. The pictures will be framed for $35. Improvement Club will sponsor Girl Scouts starting in the fall. Our obligation will be to pay for Charter of each troop each year which would be $1 each. Mrs. Karen Noyes, Mr. Marquette and Bob Flygare told about the Mill history and Park purchase and development.
September 10-Trip
Revised Constitution read. Dictionary given to Reva Carlson in
appreciation. Lillian Oberg new
chairwoman of the Welcoming Committee. Club
will pay $10 and expenses of model to appear in October.
November meeting will be at
October 1
VFW presented a flag to the club for the library. No business meeting to be held in November. 225 Christmas wreaths will be purchased at $1.20 each and sold for $2.25.
Mrs. Donna Kolby, a model demonstrated proper application of make up and told of 14 points to check on to be properly dressed and not overdressed.
November 8
A Modern Hostess Cooks with Ease and Serves With a Flair by Verna Myers. A successful day was enjoyed. Net profit of $132.80 was realized.
December 3- Christmas Party
Welcoming committee reports calls on new members of the community.
Ninety-two Girl Scouts in 4 troops in first and second stages of
scouting. Ten leaders have attended six, two hour classes at

Welcoming committee preparing brochures of item of Community interest to be given to newcomers. Contributed up to $15 for expenses of Girl Scout Investiture ceremonies. A review of three books of James Baldwin was given.
February 4, 1964
Girl Scouts working toward merit badges. Mrs. Rhode of Rhode Florist explained about suitable evergreens for the flower boxes. Member showed favorite slides of places of travel and family treasures. Girl Scouts presented club with a lovely Valentine and thanks for sponsoring the troops.
March 3, 1964
Discussion of new sign for library lawn. Discussion of flower planters. We will not be able to have the arborvitae trees until a satisfactory watering system can be adapted. Our American Heritage of furniture and Design explained with slides and furniture.
