ACT Arts Committee Meeting Minutes
February 1, 2007

1.  The committee approved the moving forward with purchasing a sound system for the portable performance stage.  Ken Rudolph, Dawn Schaefer Stumpf and Zane Schaefer have been reviewing options.  The following bid will be discussed and voted upon at our March meeting:
      Yamaha mixer      $99.00
   2  Yamaha 12" powered speakers $450 each, =$900
2 Ultimate Support Speaker Stands $139 each, =$278
      Shure Microphone $89
      Boom Microphone $29
TOTAL $1,485.66

This price reflects a discount and tax.  We can probably remove the tax as we are tax exempt but I will have to check on that.

2.  The summer concert series in the park is set for the following dates:
     June 8 Annandale Community Band
June 22 Rusty's Rockin Jamboree for kids
     July 13  TO BE ANNOUNCED
     July 27  TO BE ANNOUNCED
Aug 10  Lee Peterson's Jazz Band
     Aug 24 TO BE ANNOUNCED
Dawn has been working hard to make the bookings/schedule.  It has been difficult to connect with the bands.  Dawn has the bands in mind and is working to "lock them in".

Dawn has also been working on a grant to the Central MN Arts Board.  That was sent out and is being processed.  This money would help pay for this summers concerts.

3.  The committee reviewed the DOWNTOWN ART CRAWL event and approved sponsoring that event.  We will need to get busy contacting artists to show their work and musicians to play.  The date will be Thursday, October 4.

4.  The committee discussed Project Expansion.  At this time we do not have volunteers willing to work on Community Theater.  The committee will pursue partnering with the school district to bring events to the auditorium.

5.  The committee approved the fundraising events of the Petals and Palate Garden Tour to be held on July 7 and The Holiday Home Tour.  These will be important events as we were unable to fit into Reichel's schedule for a Dinner/Dance/Silent Auction.  To date we have 2 committed gardens:  Carol and Hank Balfour
                                                            B.A and Jack Breese
I have calls out to 3 parties right now and am waiting to hear back.  We are looking for a total of 6 Gardens.

For the Holiday Home Tour we have 1 home:  Carol and Hank Balfour
If anyone has any ideas, please bring them to our next meeting or email me.

6.  Robyn Sand Anderson, a watercolor artists from New Ulm will be featured at The Snooty Fox Gallery from February 24- April 12.  Her Sacred Works Collection depicts the Lenten Season, Old Testament and the Parables.  A reception will be held on Saturday February 24.  Robyn will be in the gallery that day from 1-3.  We hope you will join us that day for refreshments and the opportunity to view a very inspirational art show.  If you are unable to make it that day, stop by later in March.

Our next meeting will be Thursday March 1 at 5 p.m. at The Snooty Fox Gallery.

Respectfully submitted
