ARTS & CULTURE
MEETING NOTES
October 12, 2006
1. Reviewed the Art Crawl. The evening was a
success! People enjoyed the music and artwork. Laura will send a
Thank You to the Advocate for publishing, acknowledging the local hosting
business and public for attending. Each committee member that hosted will send
written thank you's to artist and musician. Don Gadow will write a
letter to the editor giving an overview of the event and its success.
2. Ken reported on the sound system. He met with
Zane S. and discussed needs and options for the Portable Performance Stage.
He will continue to gather information on our options.
3. A discussion was held regarding art and cultural
events that may utilize the beautiful auditorium located at The Annandale High
School. Dassel/Cokato has developed a tremendous program within their
community utilizing their auditorium. This will be a priority to
explore.
4. A Holiday Home Tour has been scheduled for November 18
(Saturday) from 3-7 p.m. We hope to include 6 homes total for touring
with a conclusion at The Snooty Fox Gallery for snacks. Wendy will work
on posters, Charlene will make a large poster. Laura will create the
tickets. The group discussed two ticket prices. One if you
purchase in advance and one price the day of the event. The final ticket
price will be set once we work out the food costs.
5. Also for discussion is the possibility of pursuing
some type of writers workshop for those interested in that creative venue.
The next regular meeting will be Thursday November 2, 2006
at 5 p.m.
Thank you to all the committee members that are volunteering so
much of their time and energy into expanding the arts in our community.
What a difference you are each making in improving our quality of life.
