MEETING NOTES
June 1, 2006
ACT Arts and Culture
June 1 Meeting Minutes
1. Reviewed concerts for the summer. The pavilion
is rented in case of rain for all concerts except the first. If
possible, please make yourself available to help set up and take down for
these concerts. Dawn, although a superwoman, cannot do this on her own.
Sponsorships of the concerts have been juggled a bit so the two concerts that
are not sponsored are The Paramount Jazz Orchestra $1,500 and Mr. Jim's $450.
If anyone knows of a business or party that might like to sponsor either of
these please let me know. Each sponsor will be acknowledged many times
through the course of the concert. Sponsors have been acknowledged in
the Summer Guide and in the newspaper. We are hoping to have articles in
the Annandale Advocate, Maple Lake Messenger and The Drummer.
2. Garden Tour- Tickets are on sale. Please
plug this event with friends, neighbors and perfect strangers. Tickets
are available at The Snooty Fox Gallery and In Hot Water Coffee and Tea House
and Fairhaven Farms. A number of committee members also have tickets.
WE have 120 tickets to sell!!! This event will fund the summer concert
series so please everyone, talk up the event.
3. The Bootlegger Banquet, Dance and Silent Auction tickets
will be available for sale this week. They are currently being printed.
Please gather those silent auction items and turn them in. All items
must be turned in by July 15. They can be dropped at The Snooty Fox
Gallery. Kathy Wenngatz is kindly organizing the items etc. Ardis
Nelson has been researching possible menu from that era. She will be
meeting with Robin Reichel to further discuss those ideas. We discussed
MC's for this event. Names were discussed and Laura will contact.
4. Our next monthly meeting will be July 6 at 5 p.m.
The garden committee will meet before. Do we need to meet before on the
Bootlegger's Banquet?
Respectfully submitted
Laura Hood Beckman
